Gatsas Applauds New Rules Set For Increased Suboxone Prescriptions
MANCHESTER, NH – – According to newly released rules by the U.S. Health and Human Services Department yesterday physicians licensed to prescribe Suboxone can now obtain a waiver to more than double the patients they are able to treat. As of August 5th the potential patient load will increase from 100 to 275.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Mayor Ted Gatsas made the following statement about the announcement:
“In my comprehensive plan to Combat the Fentanyl, Heroin and Opiate Epidemic in New Hampshire one action item that I had recommended was to expand the number of patients that physicians prescribing Suboxone could treat. Based on current waiting lists in New Hampshire there is a real need for this increase and I fully support it. While this is not a cure-all solution it is a much needed step in the right direction to reduce opiate addiction in the Granite State and I applaud it.”
