Gatsas Applauds Passage of Granite Hammer Funding
MANCHESTER, NH – – Following the New Hampshire House and Senate passage of HB 1000 the Granite Hammer legislation Republican gubernatorial candidate Ted Gatsas released the following statement:
“The expansion of Granite Hammer is essential to supporting local communities as they continue to combat the Fentanyl, Heroin & Opiate epidemic. This program has saved lives in Manchester and it is sending a loud and clear message that New Hampshire law enforcement agencies will have the resources to crack down on drug dealers.”I am pleased that the New Hampshire House and Senate have passed legislation today to authorize grants to expand Granite Hammer statewide. This is a positive step forward, but there is more work to be done to address this issue. As governor, I will work tirelessly to bring people together, support law enforcement and expand programs to combat New Hampshire’s drug crisis.”
Ted Gatsas is the 47th Mayor of Manchester and is currently serving his fourth term. Prior to serving as Mayor he served concurrently as a city Alderman and State Senator representing District 16. He served as Senate President from 2005 – 2006. Before entering public service Ted and his brother Michael co-founded Staffing Network an employee-leasing company that grew to be one of the largest employers in New England. Staffing Network was eventually acquired by ADP Payroll affording Ted the ability to serve the City of Manchester and the State of New Hampshire and give back to the city and state that had shaped his life and career.
