Merrill Joins Gatsas for Governor Campaign

As printed in the NH Primary Source by John DiStaso on July 14, 2016:

Merrill Joins Gatsas. Veteran operative Jim Merrill is Gatsas’ new senior campaign adviser.

Most recently a senior adviser to Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign in New Hampshire, Merrill had a similar role in Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign and was Romney’s Granite State campaign manager in 2008.  In 2012, he was top adviser for GOP candidate for governor Ovide Lamontagne.

Merrillwill not have a major role in helping to shape the Gatsas campaign’s political communications and fundraising operations.

Merrill called Gatsas, “a natural leader” and “a straight shooter,” citing his City Hall performance as a “careful steward of taxpayer dollars” and calling Gatsas a leader in the state’s fight against drug addiction.  Gatsas said Merrill, “brings a wealth of experience to the campaign and will be an invaluable asset as we move forward.”
