LE: Ted Gatsas assisted cystic fibrosis patient
I have cystic fibrosis.  I've been fighting to stay alive for 36 years.  A year ago, I was served an eviction notice.  The house I was living in was going into foreclosure.  I filled out the paperwork for emergency placement and was told there was a tow-year waiting list for housing.  I was told that my only option was a homeless shelter.

People with my health problems cannot live in a shelter.  My equipment requires much space and my weakened immune system would not protect me from the bacteria and viruses in a shelter.  Even in a very clean environment I still get serious lung infections that require hospitalizations.

A friend of mine called Ted Gatsas, and Ted did everything he could to help.  A short time later, I found an apartment that had handicap parking and easy access to my doctors and healthcare.  It was because of Ted that I was able to move into my new apartment, which was approved for Section 8.  I hate to think of where I would be today if he had not helped me.
