| September 7th, 2009 LE: We're better off with Ted Competition is a great thing! The competition in this year's mayoral election has revealed a diversity of ideas. My fiscal conservative inclinations allow me to appreciate Bobby Stephen. I proudly supported his son John's candidacy in 2008. My respect for John Stephens is as high as for anyone I've met. However, I continue to be unwavering in my support for Ted Gatsas. Much is said about taxes going up under budgets co-authored by Mr. Gatsas. My opinion is that without the input of Mr. Gatsas, taxes and spending would be increased at a much higher rate. I look at the work of Ted Gatsas as reigning in potentially disastrous spending and tax increases. It is very difficult to imagine what could have happened if Mr. Gatsas has not reached across philosophical lines to ensure that the taxpayers were best cared for. I respect and thank Bobby Stephen for all he has done for the citizens of Manchester. While Manchester would not go wrong with supporting Mr. Stephen, I am firm in my belief that we we will be better off supporting Ted Gatsas for mayor. We must be steadfast in reducing wasteful spending and the tax burden on everyone in Manchester. Please join me in supporting Ted Gatsas for Mayor on Sept. 15. - Cameron DeJong, printed in the Manchester Express Sept. 7, 2009 Back To News |
